"A Broken Heart Jubilee"
"Wax"
Claudia Nesbitt has all the priests in town in the confessional booths, talking to themselves. Kicking through the stained glass windows.
Georgie Gust is about to give birth to her. Once the author had his one and only encounter with the other Claudia, the confusion in his mind began to swarm. The bee hive was broken.
I’m George DeLouge. I look on in wonder at the mess I’ve created. Sobriety hasn’t done much good. I’m still alive. That’s about all. I need to find Claudia. To be with her. To finish what we’ve started the miraculous day I made my little trip to the convenience store. Everything seems a little dreamy. Dreams aren’t any more significant than our thoughts. And I think every day. The same kinds of things. My thoughts confuse me.
Georgie and Claudia muddle in with the environment. They dance playfully in an empty Discount Clearance Store parking lot. Georgie’s little hatchback plays pop music from the stereo. They decided to take his car this time. Her’s had no air conditioning. She was cold enough. Georgie was sweating.
“I love you.” Georgie tells her.
The huge front doors of a vintage luncheonette swing open. The same music from the car fades out.
Inside, a disheveled old man is making his rounds from table to table asking for “Help.”
